Luxury Spending is BACK!!!

auctions 300x207 Luxury Spending is BACK!!!For the past two years I have been hoping that the day when I’d write about the rise of luxury spending would come soon, here we are. It is almost xmas 2010 and I’m proud to say the global economic panorama seems to be achieving a positive scenario.

Surely there isn’t a solution yet, in fact there will not be a solution in the next few years since according to academics of high reputation the capitalist model is becoming outdated and time comes when we need to start guiding the young generation to become creative leaders, instead of just having people being motivated to follow conservative trends that shall keep us in the same cycle over and over.

Anyway, back to facts: recently we have had record breaking wine auctions, Bill Gates’ pledge for billionaire charities is working, the world’s most expensive diamond ring was just auctioned here in Switzerland for a price tag above US$46 million (an emerland cut style pink diamond beauty) and even an auction of the almighty 64 year old Macallan scotch, held within a rare Lalique crystal decanter, reached five times its expected price, nearly half a million US Dollars in one impressive sale to an anonymous US bidder.

Switzerland opens its winter season and 2011 seems to be coming full of high hopes and true spending, the very real spending, I mean super high class standards-wise, never actually stopped, it was just taken away from public media to avoid controversies, still times are much more prosper when everyone is able to savor a taste of luxury, even Aston Martin started the limited sales of its mini car, the Cygnet, being displayed for one month at Harrods (London) while it is still treated as a concept, soon clients shall be able to claim their orders.

Happier times are starting, plus there’s the usual xmas joy, light snow, family gatherings and new year resolutions, I’m already looking forward to experience 2011 at its best.
