Chile is becoming a favorite destination among Brazilian people, either for family holidays, romance or business ventures, it offers a fantastic infra-structure together with very welcoming locals who make any kind of tourist feel at home away from home. In my last publication on Chile and its tourism industry I had to make it clear to the world that my top choice in terms of where to stay is Starwood Group’s W Hotel Santiago, it amazes even the most demanding traveller.

For Brazilian tourists the appropriate way to go is LAN Chile, the national airline that just partnered up with TAM Brazil, which means the access to Santiago’s modern airport is even easier through a pleasant flight that besides short and entertaining, offers remarkable views of the Andes mountain chain, a must see on the way to Chile. Besides the natural beauty, flying LAN is surely a destination in itself, the whole staff is very kind and they do their very best to make sure the passenger is satisfied, for those travelling around Latin America it is surely the number 1 choice because compared to other local airlines it is way superior for regional standards. The board service deserves my congratulations, as well as the flights are always on time and the whole gastronomy scene on board ensures the authenticity of Chilean feeling.

Then when you land in Santiago there are plenty of choices, though I strongly recommend the W Hotel due to my positive experience as well as for the fact that the best restaurants in town are right there. Osaka, a fusion food concept venue offering a mixture of Japanese and Peruvian flavor is remarkable when it comes to surprising clients, the chef is able to create authentic and innovative recipes to have the dish brought and “built” as a true work of art, each portion is a masterpiece.

Besides Osaka I had the chance of meeting Christian, who manages the rooftop pool bar and the central restaurant of the W, called NoSo, both are mandatory when visiting Chile.

Starting by breakfast, NoSo clearly takes its position seriously as can be noticed from the shiny Christofle Hotel kitchenware, the morning buffet is endless, everything can be chosen, freshly prepared and even taken upstairs in recyclable lunchboxes to be savored later, there is even a Mimosa station and the staff is at will to help the guests and clients whenever needed. True value.

Then there is the rooftop lounge, where the most exotic and tasty cocktails of Chile are served, from typical blueberry “caipiroskas” to  mixtures featuring champagne rosé and so on, the rooftop offers a privileged point of view from the upscale hilltop district of Las Condes to all the city until the sunset.

When night falls, coincidently, the best club in town is Whiskey Blue, also inside the W, from the doorway to the table service everything is flawless, fair prices and poshy environment makes the night feel like heaven.

Besides all the world inside the W, Santiago is charming and has plenty to offer too, I got my best advices from Nicole, an experienced concierge at the ground floor of the hotel who was the nicest concierge I have met in Chile, and I have been to Chile more than a few times. Nicole promptly helped me finding all kinds of restaurants and entertainment, created me a sightseeing set of choices as well as guided me to visit vineyards and took care of all bookings, really an asset to make this hotel even better as she deserves my congratulations.

Chile is really fascinating, at fair prices and memorable flavors it is a must for everybody to visit, LAN airlines makes it near and next Summer I intend to visit and write about the Chilean coastline, besides that there is the famous Winter of Chile with all its ski resorts which may be coming soon next year as well, since I adored the country and I must return and write about it many more times.
